We are People of God's Peace
Isaiah 40 describes God’s glory being revealed and bringing comfort to God’s people. Describe one way in which God’s glory has “been revealed” to you, or given you peace. In other words, describe one time in which you have met Jesus.
The story of God is one in which we are invited to cooperate with God in blessing the world and setting it right—about coming alongside God and God’s mission. So how are you “doing ministry”—bringing peace at home/in the neighbourhood/at work/etc.? Or as Isaiah 40:3 puts it, how are you “preparing the way of the Lord in the wilderness”?
Isaiah 40:10-11 gives a picture of us seeing the Lord “coming with might.” Another picture is that of the Lord “feeding his flock like a shepherd.” What is one way you are experiencing that reality? Or, what is one thing you’re discovering about Jesus these days?" ~ J. Janzen
